In Vijayawada city, we are having 320 dumper bins and about 800 RCC Bins to collect the garbage from the house holds and commercial establishments in addition to that generated in road sweeping. As a whole we are collecting about 550 M.T of garbage.
At present we are having almost 1120 places as somewhat ugly or unhygienic or disliked by some of the neighboring people. We want to minimize these places to a reasonable number by rationalization.
As we observe the dumper bins are lifted with a capacity of about 70%, We are planning to keep few bins at a place and fill them one by one to 100% We can save or reduce about 15 to 20 % bins. We can use these bins in the place of R.C.C.Bins removing 4 RCC Bins per each Dumper Bin.
By implementing rationalization, we can reduce the dumping places as well as bins, which is beneficial both on health as well as economic grounds.
We have started Rationalization in circle-3, and it is yielding good results.
Instead of 98 dumping places we have brought down to 43 places. Now 55 places are free of complaints, and more hygienic than previous.
We have saved 9 Dumper Bins which will be placed in RCC bin areas and 36 RCC bins will be removed.
To tally we are removing 36 bins and about 85 dumping places in Circle-3 only.
We are planning to extend the same to circle-2 and circle-1 also in a phased manner.
