In order to ensure and facilitate the people's participation in the
Governmental activities and to
partner with development, the formation of 'Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs)' in all colonies
across the city is being encouraged. These RWAs are to act as catalysts for the developmental works
and for solving various local problems faced by the residents. Still the peoples participation and
in maintaining the transparency in the administration particularly in grievance mitigation is lacking.
In order to compensate the same and to build confidence to the public it has been decided to take
up Mega Adalats in various parts of the city.
These adalats are aimed to solve all types of public
grievances which also includes the interaction of the departments other than Vijayawada Municipal
Corporation. All kinds of grievances such as obtaining building permission, property title mutations,
discrepancies in tax arrears, mistakes or errors in demand notices or other related notices.
D & O trade licenses, Birth&Death certificates issue,electricity related problems, water supply related problems,
drainage related problems, sanction of water taps, drainage connections, revenue department related problems,
sanitation related problems etc., are dealt with in these Mega Adalats where the officers from all
departments will attend and dispose off the problems on-the-spot basis. Already four Mega Adalats
have been conducted at various locations across the city, which proved to be very successful.
The applications and petitions were taken and disposed on-the-spot and the program got appreciations
from all quarters.
